The Light and Song
Glory never seems to be heard
But it flies through the sky like a nightbird
Glory is hardly seen
But it’s there in your river of dreams
My dreams live on despite my past
I am so afraid of stepping back
My inner God reminds me of my truth
For this is the first time I don’t require His proof
I remember that day when all went wrong
It seemed as though my spirit had gone
Shattered dreams began closing in
But my faith allowed me to eventually win
My heart began to sing a forgotten song
A tune that was playing all along
If I allowed myself to listen and see
I would have realized earlier that none of this left me
Beyond those shadows is a bright light
Shine on me bright light…shine bright
Beyond the silence is a great ballad
Fill my ears with your sweet music
